Accomplishments

• Cleaned sed tanks
• Began experimentation with lamella
• Gave informal presentations on lamella design and sludge blanket formation to other team members.
• Trimmed weirs so that if the water level were to rise in the plant leveling tank, the water would not overflow onto the floor, but would simply pour into the weir.

Outcomes

• Lamella has been placed in cleaned sed tanks.
• Have outline for experimentation

Metrics

Issues

• Floc blanket still is not forming, due to unstable flows into the tank. The inlet pipe tends to get clogged with leaves and other debris, which causes the flow to decrease; however the alum dose was no decreased, resulting in an extremely high alum concentration and flocs that were not very dense.
• Process controller sometimes turns off and the computer restarts itself, which means that no alum is flowing into the tank.
