Depth of Lamella in a Sedimentation Tank

Goal: Determine if the depth at which lamella are placed in a sedimentation tank effects the turbidity of effluent water. If so, determine this ideal depth.

Procedure:
The lamella will be placed in the left tank such that the tops are just below the free surface. Once the floc blanket settles, the tanks will be drained until the height of the floc blanket is the same for the two. Turbidity data will be collected for both tanks. Then the lamella will be lowered incrementally until there remains little space for a floc blanket to form. The height of the floc blanket in the control tank will be lowered to match the height of that in the left tank.
