Effects of Lamella and Floc Blanket Height

Goal: Determine if lamella decrease turbidity significantly, and determine the height of the floc blanket at which the turdibity is lowest in both tanks. Because the procedure for determining ideal floc blanket height is the same as our plan for testing the effects of lamella, the two experiments are naturally being conducted simultaneously.

Procedure:

Upon formation of a floc blanket in each tank, the tanks will be drained slowly to bring the tops of the blankets to the same level in the two tanks. We will begin with the blanket at a height such that it's top is about halfway through the lamella. Turbidity data will be collected from each tank. Then the blanket will be lowered incrementally and more data collected.
