Working Group: PR

Chi-Chi

This Week:

  1. Contacted The Salubrion, and received offer to publish article
  2. Replied to Leo, asked him to start translating Wiki to Spanish and send me .doc of translations
  3. Updated logo with Helvetica font
  4. Created folder mock ups (& final draft, essential)
  5. Created fax letterhead
  6. Created pamphlet mockup
  7. Offered flyer suggestions to Matt (may need to update flyer for Matt??)

To be done:

  1. Create final .pdf of pamphlet as soon as Nicole sends me updated text
  2. Send final files for: (1) folder, (2) fax letterhead, and (3) logo
  3. Send updated article to The Salubrion as soon as Joe sends me updated article

This Week:

-Contacted multiple organizations to do press release for Cuatro Communidades
1. Partners in Health-put AguaClara video on their website
2. Bully Pulpit- writing "featured organization" article about AguaClara in next issue.
3. Cornell Daily Sun-writing article about us for Thursday or Friday
Other contacts that are pending responses: NYTimes, Washington Post, CNN, Campus Weekly, Ithaca Journal, Triple Helix, Oxfam America, Voices Magazine, Cornell Progressive, Freedom From Hunger, Doctors Without Boarders, International Committee of the Red Cross, WHO, PAHO,and the Cornell Health International's Salubrion.

-Worked with Min to run test of the demo plant on Saturday.
-Compiled mailing lists for pamphlets and fliers to be sent out in the next few weeks
-Helped set up the Rockland Alumni Event
-Set up a large audience presentation for the Museum of Earth exhibit in April
-Talked to members of board of trustees about AguaClara funding
-Met with treasurer of Cornell Health International about collaboration of future events and possible presentations for AguaClara

Last week

1. Attend BioExpo. Learn how to set up and run the demo.

2 Work with Brandon try to run test and fix the demo plant's leaking.

3. CU Club Alumni Presentation

4. Contact Active civilly engaged scholar and fillout their propsal form.

5. Setting up Cornell International Health presentation.

6. Set up demp plant training session on April 13.

Next week

1. Announce Antho 2714 presentation

2. Announce ACES event and try to get people attend the discussion panel about service learning

3. finalize details about Earth Museum presentation, IthaKids and Cornell International Health.

Joe

Last week

  • looked over the NSF grant, I am compiling a pseudo-template for grants.
  • Finished master list of funding organizations
  • Researched Shortlist organizations
  • Got the contact info of all organizations I wish to contact concerning funding.

This Week

  • Started emialing and mailing letters of inquiry to organizations of on the Master List with Brandon.
  • Compiled the Shortlist for Grants, please advise if the list needs more descriptions. Ford Foundation is top priority after IAF.
  • I am writing a more comprehensive letter of inquiry to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation so that they may help with funding.
  • Writing Mid-term Wiki
  • Found two documents that will help with a template of grant writing. I will include these on the Midterm Wiki
  • I would like to meet with Monroe tomorrow concerning the Shortlist if that is possible.

Last week:
  • Emailed Sara Long for more information about CARE organization on campus (waiting for reply)
  • Sent out invitation to alumni and members to join the AguaClara Google group
  • Studied more about Oxfam, USAid, Action Aid, CARE (so far only CARE seems to fit our need)
  • Sent out greeting emails to students who are interested in joining AguaClara
This week:
  • Make a draft of the Newsletter, find events and updates on the website to put in the letter.
  • Write a paragraph about the Newsletter for mid-term report
