In the meeting with Jessica Traynor, many issues came up. Also, she gave us good advice on how to approach prospective fundraisers. This is a summary of that meeting.

  • Establish a relationship with the last contacts. That is, sending handwritten thank you notes, contacting them, and informing them of the progress of the project.
  • Market ourselves in the best way possible. Find out about fairs and competitions AguaClara could qualify for, and join them.
  • Have a spot in Reunion, maybe the demo plant, a couple of students, or just a poster.
  • Give her some brochures, so she can take them wherever she goes.
  • Keep good yearly records. (Since the outreach team is new, then we would be the ones to start the records).
  • Start a business plan.
  • Make a business packet to be presented to possible donors. In this packet be sure to talk about the successes of the project, as well as the challenges encountered.
