If you would like to apply materials to the plant drawing, open an already created EtFlocSedFi.dwg and follow the following instructions:

Adding Materials from Autodesk Materials Library to Document Materials

Step 1: Open Material Browser (command: “RMAT”)

Step 2: Click on the icon of the materials to add into Document Materials

NOTE: You can search for you desired material on the upper right hand search box. Check the text file to see which materials are to be applied.

Applying Materials

Step 1: In the command-line, type “-layer” and “material”

Step2:  Type in your desired material name (e.g. “Flat - Polished Gray”)

Step3:  Type in the drawing layer(s) you wish to apply the materials to (e.g. “FlocModBaffles”)

NOTE: Use the command “shademode” to choose to view the design in different modes;  “realistic” allows you to view the materials well

Applying Materials Using the Already Created Text File

Step 1: Follow this link to the text file with the already written commands to apply all materials to the plant.

Step 2: Copy and paste the entire text into the command line of the drawing.

NOTE: The text file must be manually updated by design team members every time a new set of layers or a new material is applied. It is thus possible that you will get error messages if layers that the text file is attempting to apply a material to does not exist. 

Creating material library

Step 1: Open Material Browser, click “Manage” > “Create New Library”

Step 2: Name and Save Library (data file in .adsklib format)

Step 3: Drag (or Copy) Desired Materials into Material Box on the Right (save is automatic)

Importing Library and Materials into “Document Materials”

Step 1: Open Material Browsers, click “Manage” > “Open Existing Library”, Choose File

Step 2: Click on the Materials in the Material Box to Add Them into “Document Materials”
