Spring 2009 Minutes

Put together the system with larger tubes and drilled out the necessary parts
Emailed Cameron and requested a web cam for the sand filter. Met with Cameron to clarify the request.
Finished the teach-in presentation
Started to revise the research proposal and detailed task list.
Started working on midterm wiki.
Worked with Matt on the leaking problem (See Issues below). Decided to order metal clamps. If that fails, we will attempt to place a very large fitting into the tubing
Decided to start literature searches while experimental setup is not working properly.
Decided to start going over MathCAD work while experiments are down.

Clogging in the sand filter needs to be addressed
Leaks in the system due to fitting/connector issues near pumps, may be due to pressure in the lines.

Fix leak problem
Fix clogging problem/find a minimum expansion for which clogging doesn't happen and use a greater expansion for subsequent experiments.
Finish revising midterm wiki
Finish revising research proposal/detailed task list.
Start the first planned set of experiments, hopefully.
