Fall 2010 CDC Detailed Task List

I. Review current CDC design. (1-2 weeks)

a) Familiarize with the CDC design; go over calculations and procedure from previous teams.

II. Scale and Improve current CDC design

• Review previous suggestions on improving the CDC design and roughly sketch what it would look like (1 week)
• Research on finding float valves that works with future designs. The current float valve cannot be scaled to bigger plants.
• Create a data base of float valves/other materials for later plant designs. (1 week, Oct 15th)
• Develop an NDC design capable of controlling all liquid chemical feeds for the plant.

III. CDC construction material research.

• Create data base of materials based on fitting styles, cost, longevity, ease of use, availability in Honduras. (2 weeks)
• Contact current operators, through Sarah Long, in Honduras that use the non-linear CDC and ask for feedback regarding ease of use or and suggestions for design improvement. (1 week)
• Establish compatibility between materials and chemicals used (alum, chlorine, lime).(4 weeks)
