Accomplishments

• Worked on midterm wiki report
• Changed baffle function so that floc tanks draw faster

Floc Hopper Group

Accomplishments

• Finished writing the MtoA code that will create the floc hopper for the plant.
• Updated the wiki page to include pictures of the floc hopper and its dimensions. 
• Updated files in the Final Design folder (floc hopper - new design, floc hopper - old design, and replaced a link in the Master Program to call our new floc hopper file)

Issues

• Need to change the origin of our floc hopper in the code so that it will be placed correctly within the plant.

Goals for upcoming week

• Will work on placing the floc hopper in the correct position in the plant, as well as testing the floc hopper with various plant sizes.

Floc Tank Group

Accomplishments

• Number of baffles in the last channel is now even
• Designed prototype for flocculator drainage system that requires no valves and drew in AutoCAD

Issues

• Subtracting a single baffle seems to have added more channels for smaller plant flow rates than anticipated
• The ports between the channels take up the entire height of the tank for certain flow rates

Goals for upcoming week

• Compare and understand the effect of removing a single baffle in the last channel to the original design
• Ensure that the baffle spacing is no smaller than the width of the ports
• Draw slots to slide the baffles into
• Send drainage design to engineers in Honduras to review

Materials List Group

Accomplishments

• Worked on editing/improving wiki page for Final Midterm report
• Added more calculations to MathCAD file including weir pipes, sed plate frame, and chimneys
• Updated wiki page with all calculations
• Created Input and Output tabs on Variable Naming Guide for the Materials List and loaded file to the wiki

Issues

• Figuring out the most efficient and helpful way to organize our data and calculations
• Had trouble understanding drop chimney dimensions - Demonstration at team meeting was helpful

• Finalize materials
• Price components
