Fall 2015 Contributions

This semester, I was part of the Chemical Safety research team. We created a chemical safety training presentation to be used in the plants in Honduras. Included in this presentation is information regarding first aid measures, storage and transportation of chemicals, and personal protective equipment. I was responsible for translating all of this information into Spanish for the presentation. I also created one of the two posters we made to demonstrate the proper use of PPE in the plant.

Spring 2016 Contributions

This semester I was a member of the Constant Head Tank subteam of the Fabrication team. I helped to redesign the constant head tank to be better resistant to chlorine, able to accommodate the larger float valve, easier to clean, and easier to drain. I also learned to use the PVC welder, though we did not end up using it for our final design.

Fall 2016 Contributions

This semester I was a member of the Chemical Dose Controller subteam. We redesigned the Constant Head Tank to accommodate the larger float valves and redesigned the inlet and exit plumbing to incorporate the calibration columns into the Constant Head Tank module. Additionally, I took the CHT to Honduras and presented it to the engineers and plant operators there.

Spring 2017 Contributions

This semester I am a member of the EStaRS subteam and will be working on fabricating the new EStaRS design. Additionally, I will be advising the Chemical Dose Controller subteam.
