2CUL TSI Joint Senior Managers Integration Network: Charge

Overview.  The Technical Services Integration (TSI) Steering Committee has been leading the planning effort for the Mellon-supported TSI over the past several months.  The project has now advanced to a stage at which an expansion of coordination is necessary.  Working in conjunction with TSI Steering, the main purpose of the Joint Senior Managers Integration Network (JSMIN) is to initiate an incremental integration of technical services workflows, practices, policies, and projects – with particular focus on staffing and resource issues.  More specifically, JSMIN is charged to:

  • Develop and implement a plan to begin the practical, “non-administrative” aspects of TSI through the identification and prioritization of collaborative initiatives, pilot projects, and other trial ventures that will prepare us for a productive and sustainable formal integration on July 1, 2015.  This stepwise integration should be based on the evolving readiness of the various 2CUL technical services departments and units over time to achieve the goals of TSI, as well as the availability of staff and other resources to balance the demands of current, individual institutional commitments with the demands of the project.
  • Address and recommend staffing adjustments and requirements to support the technical services aspects of Alma implementation, if it becomes necessary to conduct this related initiative simultaneously and in conjunction with TSI.
  • Assess and recommend changes to the charge of this group as the integration progresses.
  • Advise the 2CUL Steering Committee about organizational / administrative changes that may result from the integration.
  • Issue regular reports on its work via the TSI wiki and through other channels, as appropriate.

JSMIN will be chaired by the two TSI Integration Managers, Kate Harcourt and Jim LeBlanc, and will report to the 2CUL Project Directors, Xin Li and Bob Wolven.
