Working Group: Gracias Entry Tank
Accomplishments
- Based on the required area for the entrance tank orifice and the total minor loss coefficient needed for global mixing, each of us came up with a tank and rapid mixer design.
- With Professor Monroe's suggestions taken into account, we finalized the design.
Metrics
- Determined that the area of the entrance tank orifice needs to be 407 centimeters squared.
- Determined that if the dimensions for the orifice were 100cm X 4cm and the water level dropped down to the top of the orifice, the plant would operate at 32 percent of its maximum capacity.
Outcomes
- We will need to calculate the water level in the first channel so that we know what the height of the second waterfall needs to be.
Issues
- We have been having a lot of trouble formatting our wiki pages because we are dealing with both, the research and design team formatting guidelines.
- We do not know how to add new equations to the wiki page.
