The Ojojona Plant Operating Manual and the plate settler and baffle module construction manual are resources for construction and operation.

Records of plant performance are available in the attachments. In Ojojona there are two water supply systems. Payaguagre is treated by the AguaClara plant and Agua Blanca is a slightly better water source that is not treated.

Continual Maintence

To help with the communities awareness of the plant it was thought that a daily update posted in the water boards office would be helpful. This Data board for Junta de Agua includes weekly information on who is responsible for the running of the plant, and daily information on the turbidity and chlorine residual in the tank. Include on the side is a visual way to see the safety of the water, with green, yellow, and red dots depending on the turbidity and the chlorine residual.

New Valve installation - Due to the dsign of the exit of the sedimentation tanks originally just one valve was installed at the end of the three tanks to sample the water exiting the plant. However, more direct data collection on how each sedimentation tank was functioning was desired Therefore three more valves were installed at the exit of each sedimentation tank and now the water exiting each tank can be tested.

Health Data - This data was collected from the local Health Center at Ojojona. Unfortunately they have just started to collect data by neighborhoods. 2005, and 2006 include data from other close towns as well.
