Voyager's printed notices and reports are produced in two ways. The Reporter client contacts the server and retrieves the output of batch files that the server produces. Reporter then assembles this data as either notices (to be mailed to library patrons) or reports (to be used internally). The text of the notices and reports that reporter produces can be modified, but the actual information (data fields) cannot. In addition to the reports available through the Reporter client, there is a database of MS Access Prepackaged Reports, with direct links to the CUL database. These reports can be modified to suit CUL's needs, both in the text layout and in the inclusion of data fields. The table below contrasts these two types of printed products, and details what types of reports are available through each medium.
Note: Many prepackaged Access reports have broad appeal. It is a good idea to look at the reports categorized in all the functional areas listed.
