Outputs:

1. Expanded upon co-led professional development in critical instruction and librarianship during CLAP Team meetings, as relevant expertise and experience levels varied widely within the team.

a. A portion of each monthly CLAP Team meeting was devoted to professional development.

b. Topics were selected based on interest, and CLAP member(s) self-selected to lead these sessions, with attention to theory and practical applications.  Topics included: Introduction/knowledge base development, anti-racist instructional practice, incorporating social justice into instruction, and primary sources.

c. Most sessions included a chapter or article for pre-reading to build background professional knowledge.

2.  Re-visited evaluation of LibGuides for efficacy and explored alternatives.

a.  H5P was proposed as an alternative, but was not pursued due to the inertia of the Springshare platform.

i. If H5P is considered in the future, it is currently provided to CVM by the CVM Educational Support Services group; it would be reasonable to anticipate that it has passed IT’s accessibility testing.  No budget information was collected, but H5P does appear to have free-level accounts.

3.  Annual event for CUL Instructors was postponed from June, 2024 until Fall Semester due to the Team’s lack of capacity for organizing and hosting the event.

Budget:

None requested for FY24. Potential request pending for FY25 for Fall event.

Preliminary Goals for 2023-2024: (drafted by Julia Gardner and Chris Miller, incoming Team Leads)

1.  Hold Fall semester event for CUL Instructors

2.  Engage with adjacent committees (Outreach & Engagement, Liaison Steering) to explore areas of collaboration

3.  Collaborate on Orientation Workshops

4.  Hold monthly meetings that explore instruction topics of current interest (AI’s impact, inclusive classrooms, etc.)

5.  Update Resource List for New Instruction Librarians
