Metadb is a new reporting database architecture that will eventually replace the Library Data Platform (LDP) software used by FOLIO project participants for reporting on FOLIO data. Metadb is now in beta release. Metadb will provide near real time data via continuous data streams from the FOLIO application server to FOLIO reporting users. By comparison, the LDP software provides reporting users with a copy of yesterday's data from the FOLIO application server. Metadb also will be easier for query developers to use because most data coming from the FOLIO system via data arrays will be broken out into data columns.
