September 3, 2020 - Marc Mapping from Source to FOLIO (instances, holdings, items)

Pro Tip #1: To restore default MARC mapping rules in your tenant, (in Postman) do a PUT request to {{baseURL}}/mapping-rules/restore. (Disclaimer: Don't try this at home without proper authorization.)
Pro Tip #2: Once you’re settled into your FOLIO tenant, it’s unlikely you’ll be messing with the default mapping moving forward. In fact, it’s best to enlist help from someone experienced in MARC mapping modifications carry out any desired edits, as there are many things to consider. It’s important to maintain consistency between your MARC mapping and import rules to avoid issues with import/overlay of records. An example of a desired change might be mapping a special, local identifier.
Pro Tip #3: When viewing the source of a MARC record in FOLIO, the 999$s contains the SRS UUID, while the 999$i contains the instance UUID.
Pro-Tip #4: After importing a record, verify if the 001 contains an instance HRID. And as promised, here are the links shred by Ann-Marie in the chat:
Here's the link to the default mapping rules: https://github.com/folio-org/mod-source-record-manager/blob/master/mod-source-record-manager-server/src/main/resources/rules/rules.json and here is the link to editing those default MARC mapping rules: https://github.com/folio-org/mod-source-record-manager/blob/master/RuleProcessorApi.md And this is the relevant page on the wiki: https://wiki.folio.org/display/FOLIOtips/MARC+Mappings+Information
