It seems like there are two threads (besides notes, which we will talk about at a BERT meeting with everyone) that seem important right now:
- what to do when EBSCO does not have a “selectable” database for us to use. One example:
- Oxford Handbooks Online package by Oxford University Press. We have around 1100 titles selected, but we only own 700+ titles. We were able to get an accurate title list from OUP.
- The titles were originally in an EBSCO package that was labeled as “complete” so we ended up getting MARC records and links in EDS that were for titles we didn’t own.
- EBSCO created a custom package for us, but it looks like the provider is Cornell University Library, not OUP
- We have to maintain titles/URLs ourselves
Can we put pressure on EBSCO to get them to add databases with all the holdings from a publisher, but creating a selectable database? It seems as though EBSCO has all the data (titles, ISBNs or ISSNs, URLs), so it shouldn’t be a problem to get a new selectable package set up.

- A lot of the tasks have already been done, but a lot is still needed, particularly title list reconciliation.
- I’ll go over some of the tasks listed, but we can discuss if anything else is needed.
- I am trying to plan out some projects for BERT folks to work on to help them get used to working in FOLIO.
