v17.1 came out about Apr 4, 2018

If you want the latest version of ChemDraw Professional, the vendor has a new process. Here are the instructions.

Note: Unlike before, the key provided by the vendor July 2018 will last 3 years. No more annual re-licensing, which is a good thing.

You are in Cornell Chemistry

For people in Arts and Sciences Chemistry Department, Chemistry IT is available to support you in using Chemistry IT's potentially easier process.

  • This method is optional for those in the Chemistry Department. They may alternatively use the "regular" method, below.

1. Download the current software for either Windows or Mac from our restricted site.

2. During the installation, use the license key also available from our restricted site.

You are outside Chemistry

Anyone outside of the Chemistry Department should follow the vendor's standard process, please. Below is a summary, created by starting at the vendor's Institutional Subscriptions look-up site, <http://sitesubscription.cambridgesoft.com/>.

1. Create an account at vendor's new software distribution service

  • Note: This new system is not related to vendor's previous software distribution registration system which you may have used before.

2. Use that account to download the required software and obtain the license key.

  • Note: Unlike with versions of ChemDraw, the license key is the same for both Windows and Mac installations.
  • No labels
