Endnote licensing is expensive and options are varied and not straightforward. This page attempts to untangle this and capture snap-shots on pricing differences using the different buying and upgrading options.

BOTTOM LINE: Most convenient via Campus Store, and good price for physical media. Download version is $11-30 cheaper, available from EndNote's academic reseller, "OnTheHub eStore".

Updated data-points from March 2017:

Version X7, (10/2015). All offerings seem to be multiplatform (Windows / Mac) and perpetual (of same version; not free version upgrades).

Cost factors include: Bulk licensing, academic and student licensing (who is paying for it matters), and if buying new or upgrading a version.
