Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Derby (antigenic formula 6,7,14:e,h:e,n,z15) is a serovar of the O:7 (C1) serogroup. S. Derby is a common serotype in raw pork in China (particularly Luohe province).

Animal reservoir: The most common reservoir for serovar Derby is swine.   

Geographical distribution: S. Derby is found in China. 

Outbreaks: Outbreaks linked to S. Derby have been reported; in most of these outbreaks, the associated food was raw pork.
