Cost per use related to current price, current content? - Better definition of what we want and what we can produce.

 - "When we say Cost-per-use, this is what we mean."

What are the uses we intend to make when we talk about cost-per-use?

Current Year - JR5

  • Compare institution to institution
  • Conversations with publisher/vendor
  • Subscribed vs. Non-subscribed
  • Database model and CPU - look at "relative value" i.e. mean cost per download, times the number of downloads of a single title.  Is this relevant?
  • List price and usage compared to "our" price

Archival - JR1a

  • What is the vendor including in the archive?
  • Does the usage accurately reflect what the vendor sold as archive?

Open Access

JR1 report - essentially includes all of the above

IP specific usage

Turnaways

  • Title issue?
  • Holdings issue?
  • What would we have to buy to actually reduce or remove the turnaways?
  • No labels
