Process to order EZ-Backup subscriptions by ChemIT, for efficient and consistent requests and order trouble-shooting. Includes template answers. Links to inventory of subscriptions.

Process to order, and template

Scan into a PDF the signed Form-85 and email it, as an attachment, to CIT <ezbackup>.

Send it from our <crcf> EGA (not <chemit>) so our team gets confirmation email without generating a Remedy ticket ourselves.

  • In the Subject line, including some of the following words:
    • New node
    • Cancel node
    • Change node
    • Change billing
  • In the body of the email, WE MUST ENTER:
    • The sender's name and NetID (both REQUIRED)
    • Our group's phone number (preferred)
  • Recognize this is not optimal since when we do it this way, CIT can't easily look up our EGA, or any of our individual NetIDs for these EZ-Backup requests.
    • You can instead send it from your own NetID, if the above considerations represents a problem in the context of your specific submission request. But that's not optimal since others in the group won't have any record of CIT's Remedy ticket associated with your request.

Subject: Create NetID.LAPTOP.EZBACKUP

  • Hello,

Please see the attached scan pdf authorizing the creation of the <NetID>.LAPTOP.EZBACKUP node. If you could place it into the midday backup schedule and NOT the nightly backup, I would appreciate it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let  me know.

Additional notes:

  • Helpful if different processes were submitted as different requests (e.g. new node requests and node cancellations requests should each be treated as separate requests).
  • See text template, available only to TSPs (not public).

Above info informed by conversation in Remedy ticket INC000000999507 and INC000001002186, between Oliver and Randy at CIT, Dec. 2013.

To do: Get template "answers" to the form, the way Michael fills it out.
