(I'm the girl.)
Hello! My name is June Shin and I'm originally from Seoul, Korea. I moved to the States at age 14 and lived in Newport Beach, California, right up to college. Now, home for me is Buena Park(still Orange County), CA. I had never realized how heavenly Southern California is before my first winter in Ithaca. Haha. Now I appreciate it so much more whenever I come home from school.
I like to draw and make things with my hands (I was a Fine Art major in my freshman year. Hi Christina!). I also love to travel. and eat.
I'm taking this course solely out of interest. I'm an Art History major and I wanted to take this class last year but the class was full then. I'm really glad I can be in it this way, for I'll be graduating this May. Although my major is Art History, the topic of the art market was never really discussed at length in any of the art history classes I've taken in the last three years. I'm a student docent at Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art and part of the History of Art Majors' Society (HAMS), and working closely with the museum has led me to see the importance of the art market more so than before.
I think the interaction among us will be really intriguing, for we come from different geographic, cultural, and academic backgrounds. I look forward to learning about it in depth and communicating with all of you throughout the course. It's very nice to meet you all and happy new year! :)
