CNF maintains four Video Conferencing systems.

If you would like to use one of the systems, please contact CNF IT staff for help. For those conference systems located in a room, you will also need to reserve the particular conference room.

Cornell users with a valid Cornell NetID may host WebEx conferences via http://cornell.webex.com . See https://www.it.cornell.edu/services/webconferencing/ for details on the Cornell WebEx service.

CNF IT staff support WebEx, Skype, and Google Hangouts.

250 Duffield Conference Room

250 Visitor Conference Room

This system is part of the general use Windows PC. The system's hardware, in addition to the PC, is as follows:

  • Logitech C920 WebCam
  • ClearOne Chat 50 speaker/microphone

Be advised that within the video conferencing software, you will need to choose the correct microphone/speaker and camera devices. DO NOT choose the PC's on board microphone or speakers or the microphone / speakers built into the WebCam. For the echo cancellation built into the ClearOne Chat 50 to work correctly, the ClearOne must be used for both audio in and audio out. The ClearOne Chat is also designed to provide the best quality audio for a room of the size of the Visitor Conference Room.

You may need to connect the USB on the webcam and ClearOne.

PolyCom ViewStation FX - 250 Visitor Conference Room

CNF's PolyCom is an older model system. Unfortunately, Polycom did not maintain compatibility between different generations of systems. Whether or not the PolyCom will work with someone else's PolyCom is unknown without first testing. CNF IT staff can help you test.
