Baseline courses:
- Fundamentals of Structural Engineering (F) - CEE 6710
or Foundations of Solid Mechanics I (F) - MAE 6110/TAM 66301 - Finite elements (F) MAE 5700 or CEE 6720
- Composite Materials (S) MAE 4550
All students should try to broaden their knowledge of mechanics and materials by studying additional mechanics topics such as dynamics (MAE 5735), or fluid mechanics (MAE 6010), advanced solid mechanics topics (TAM 6550), advanced computational mechanics courses, (CEE 7750), materials science (MSE 6020), or biomedical mechanics (BME 5810, BME/MAE 6640, BME/MAE 5690)
