Dear CUL,

Are you looking for an opportunity to assist help your colleagues make the most of their careers? Would you like to help newly-hired staff to feel welcomed and informed? How about connecting librarians in the promotion process with experienced staff to guide them? Well, you're in luck! The Career Development Commitee is seeking volunteers to serve on the newly-revamped Mentoring Committee.

The mission of the CUL mentorship program is to facilitate the development of an inclusive of high-quality, high-impact mentoring programs in an innovative combination of partnership and ongoing support.

The committee will be responsible for:

  • Recruiting mentors
  • Matching mentors and mentees for both academic and non-academic staff, based on individual needs and interests*
  • Monitor Supporting mentoring relationships to ensure mutual benefit
  • Scheduling networking and learning events and
  • Conducting an annual assessment of overall program and review of the charge

Members shall serve for 1 or 2 year terms. The Mentoring Committee is being re-created as a subcommittee of the CDC, Career Development Committee with a new charge to be that is more inclusive to all staff. Because of this new charge, we anticipate that the first few months will involve a fair amount of structuring and organizing.
