PII scanning tools are used to search for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on computers.  Most commonly such data takes the form of social security numbers and credit card numbers paired with names.

The tools widely in use at Cornell currently are Identity Finder and Spider.  This site is intended as a conduit for information for technical support providers who support these tools.
