Work Completed
Met with Antonio and Ing. Serrano to plan out what we will be doing for the next few months. The main activities we have planned are:
Tamara Construction
Follow-Through with Ojojona Plant
Search for Other Potential Communities for Plants
Support to Fred in Marcala
Technical Support in La 34
Visited the Tamara construction site a few times to familiarize ourselves with what is going on. Because of the presence of Ing. Serrano and our lack of construction knowledge we will not have as intensive of involvement as Dan Smith had in Ojojona. However, we will try to be there almost every day to check for
errors in the plans and make sure things are built to plan.
Revised the Tamara plans and noticed some errors. The floc tank was 15 cm too narrow because the width of the divider wall was not taken into account. Fixing this required ripping out one footing that had already been poured. We did a thorough revision of the plans and will work quickly with Ing. Serrano to print out an updated set.
Made a list of questions that still need to be finalized for the Tamara design. We came up with some ideas and are sending the list and our ideas to Cornell. Included with this list of questions is a preliminary parts list of accessories for the plant and a diagram of our proposal to support the laminas.
