Accomplishments
- Cut tubes and continued to run experiments holding capture velocity constant.
Issues
Metrics
- Identified optimum capture velocity from experiments run this far. Calculated necessary tube length to hold this capture velocity constant for all diameter tubes.
- Calculated Reynolds numbers to confirm that flow in tube settlers is laminar.
- Met with Monroe and discussed additional quantitative modeling of floc sliding down/rolling up tube. From this conversation, determined velocity gradient for all tubes tested to this point, and identified correlation between velocity gradient and failure.
Outcomes
- Need to update wiki before final.
- Need to finish gathering and analyzing data.
