This icon appears when an e-mail generated by Ares fails to send to the user. Clicking on it will open the Pending and Failed EMails window (figure 20.4).

Figure 20.4: The Pending and Failed Emails window:

The main window is split into a main menu, and two tabs, Failed Messages and Pending Messages.
The Failed Messages tab contains messages that were generated by the system could not be sent. As you can see from figure 20.4, the user receiving the message is listed, subject of the message, body in the details panel, and a notes field containing the error that was received. You may at this point do any of the following actions from the main menu;

Resend EMail: This option will resend the selected e-mail as is.
Edit and Resend: This option will allow you to edit the text of the selected e-mail message. After you are finished editing the message the new version will be stored in the system and the message sent to the user.
Resend all Failed: This option will try to resend all the failed messages that are displayed on this tab.
Mark as Sent: Will mark the messages as sent and move them to the archive. If this option is chosen there will be no other attempts made to send the message to the user.

   Note: This icon usually only appears if there is a problem with the mail server. If opened
and there are a lot of messages that have not sent please contact the local Ares support person.
