Username |
This field contains the unique user id for the current user. This is the patron's NetID. |
Last Name |
This field contains the last name of the current user. |
First Name |
This field contains the first name of the current user. |
Library ID |
This field contains the barcode used to link them with our circulation systems. This field is currently not used. |
Address |
This field contains the local address for the user, such as "120E MVR Hall, Cornell University". This field is not filled in automatically by the system but is editable by the user through the web interface. |
City |
This field contains the user's local city. The default setting for this field is "Ithaca." |
State/Zip |
This field contains the user's local state and zip code. The default for this field is "NY 14853." |
E-Mail Address |
This field contains the E-Mail address that the system uses to send alerts to the user. The default for this field is their NetID@cornell.edu. |
Phone |
This field contains the local phone number to be used by reserves staff for contacting the patron. This field is not filled in by default, but can be edited through the web interface by the user. |
Department |
This field is the department with wich the user is associated. This field is not et by default, and the department list is not maintained. |
Status |
This field contains the Patron Type of the currently selected user. The options for this field are Faculty, Staff, Graduate and Undergraduate. |
Cleared |
This field indicated whether or not the user has been cleared by reserves staff and has full access to his or her account. Because of the way the CUL systems interface with Ares the default for this field is set to "Yes." |
Authorization Type |
This field indicates the type of authorization that should be used to verify if the user should have access to the system. This field only affects users logging into the Ares web interface, not accessing it through Blackboard. The default selection for this field should not be changed. |
External ID |
This field is an optional external linking ID that can be used to link the Ares user record with other outside systems. This field is currently not used. |
Instructor Privileges? |
When this option is checked the patron is allowed to create courses and submit requests. |
Staff Permissions? |
When this option is checked the user can sign into the Windows based Ares Staff Client. |
