Spring 2009 Contributions

Contribution in the 1st half semester:

     First event I take over to contact and recruit people is Bridges to Community. I helped Brandon with his article/abstract of AguaClara and contacted publication personnel on Brandon's contact list. We got reply from Cornell Daily Sun; they are interested in putting up an article about AguaClara. I learned how to run the demo. I organized, submitted an abstract and attended the BioExpo. I Contact Ithkid, SWE about potential presentation in April (yet to decide on the date.) Recently, I Worked with Brandon try to fix the demo plant's leaking and organize CU Club Alumni Presentation. I Contacted Active civilly engaged scholar and fill out their proposal form.I am working with Brandon to set up the presentation for Earth Event. I am also setting up the Cornell International Health presentation and demo plant training session on April 13.

Contribution in the 2nd half semester:

PR has gave a good number of presentations to different groups during second half of the semester. Some are planned a head in the first half of the semester. AguaClara made a good impression at the Cornell Alumni Event. A week later Cornell International Health Presentation happened and AguaClara made some valueable contacts from that presentaton.  Later in the same week, I also organized a presentation with poster and demo for ACES(Active Civilly Engaged Scholars). On 4/13, AguaClara make a presentaiton to high school students. Presentation which I have organized from first semester, SWE candidates' weekend, finally happened on 4/17. On 4/18, I attened 11am-3pm AguaClara presentation at Museum of the Earth.  And I also helped out with 4/21 AguaClara guest lectured for ANTHR 2714, which wraps up the semester.

In additions, I also hosted a demo plant training for the team member who are interested in learning how to give a presentaiton with demo. Now we have a user manual for the demo that's very user-friendly. And I keep cleaning the floculator make sure the demo plant is at its best condition when there is a up comming presentation.
