Background: Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Korovi (antigenic formula 1,4,[5],12,[27]:y:e,n,x) is a serovar of the O:4 (B) serogroup. This is a very rare serovar; one report in Italy found S. Ball in wild boars and a recent report identified this serovar in black pepper from Hungary.
