The new Matrix is faster, but it is different. Learn about the differences here to reduce your aggrevation.

Information related to testing

New ticket number is INC...

How is the new Fall 2014 Matrix different than the old Matrix?

Expected workflow: Who is responsible for what?

All end-users will have a snap-shot copy of their current home directory (from the production Matrix) placed into the end-user's storage directory (on the new Matrix).

All researchers most move or copy items from their storage directory into their home directory, as they see fit.

    • Home is where currently used files belong.
    • Storage is where non-actively used, Scheraga-related, research files belong.

Each researcher must confirm that the applications on the new Matrix, which they depend on, work for them.

  • If all works as expected, notify ChemIT and include the INC... ticket number in the email. Thank you!
  • If you have a problem with an application, even after you have tried working it out by yourself, please contact the group member assigned as lead tester for that application. Follow their instructions.

Important notes: What data is erased. What data is saved.

ChemIT will save all end-user's home directories.

ChemIT will erase all end-user's storage directories.

  • On the day we cut-over from the old Matrix to the new Matrix, ChemIT will make a final copy of user's old Matrix home directories into their new Matrix storage directories.
