Spring 2011 Mid-Semester Contributions

I am a member of the newly formed Structure Team. Currently, I am working on the column design of the flocculator tank with Joe Beaudette. For our analysis, I helped calculate the shear and moment loads the column would have to withstand due to the water in the tank. I also determined the moment capacity of the column based on the specifications detailed in the AutoCAD file for the Alauca plant using an Excel spreadsheet. This spreadsheet can be found under the "Documents" section of the Structure Team's Wiki page. We are now working on converting the calculations done on Excel to a MathCAD file. I am also in charge of writing the reports and updating the Wiki page.
