Documentation of AguaClara Performance

On Monday 1.26 we met with Martin Rivera, Director of Water and Sanitation Peace Corps Volunteers and Edith Rivera, Sub-Director of Save the Children to discuss strategies for documenting the performance of AguaClara technology. We are creating a rough draft for a report that we will then present to SANAA.

On Wednesday 1.28 we decided on where the plant would connect to the distribution line going into the distribution tank. We also confirmed the plant levels on the ground around the flocculation tanks.

Antonio also did a complete inventory of the products left in storage. There is a form that the president of the Junta, Jorge was supposed to be in charge of monitoring all the materials leaving the storage. However, since sometimes he is not there when construction is taking place, some of the information is missing.
Antonio had the chance to reaffirm the importance of transparency and keeping track of materials. This will also help the AguaClara team compare what was used with what was originally budgeted.

On Friday 1.30 we gave the second capacitation to the Junta, interested operators, and representatives of Cuidad Espana. The objective was to explain how the treatment plant operates and its relation to the demo plant. Participants learned how to prepare the aluminum sulfate stock, why the sedimentation tanks have lamella, and some of the research performed at Cornell. You can see the presentation and the list of participants here.
