For purposes of reporting (both internally and externally), counts of these physical items are often grouped into formats such as books, serials, visual materials, etc., for purposes of reporting counts for internal as well as external use. The CUL Folio Physical Material Bib Format Display table shows material formats provides multiple suggested ways to group format counts based on MARC codes, and is the suggested format table for CUL use when providing material counts by format. Material formats by MARC code as contained in this table coding.* These translations have been carefully reviewed and agreed upon by CUL cataloging subject matter experts as well as by area reporting experts.
