Fall 2016 Contributions
This semester, I am on the Sensor Development sub team working on developing the current pressure measurement system and designing and building a fluidized bed solids concentration sensor. I will being working with my team to utilize ProCoDa efficiently in order to automate the pressure measurement system. After that, the team will design and build the new solids concentration sensor and determine a method to correlate the measurements from the sensor to the intensity of solids concentration.
Spring 2016 Contributions
During the Spring 2016 semester, I worked with the High Rate Sedimentation sub team to reduce the residence time of water in current AguaClara plants. We are, specifically, experimenting experimented with plate settler geometries. We will be building I helped build a new testing apparatus and running ran experiments with continuous and porous plate settlers. We will also be combining During experimentation, combined our experiments on plate settler geometries with floc blanket research.
Fall 2015 Contributions
In Fall 2015, I am worked with the Foam Filter Cleaning sub team to build a new testing apparatus, design a new testing method, and optimize filter cleaning efficiency for foam filter plants. We worked to experiment with cleaning velocities and optimize foam filtration performance so that foam filter plants can be more widely used in small communities and clean drinking water can be more easily readily available to people without access to it.
