Interim arXiv Scientific Director - vacant position

Oya Y. Rieger, Associate University Librarian, Digital Scholarship Scholarly Resources & Preservation Services; arXiv Program Director

Rieger oversees the Library’s digitization, repository development, digital preservation, electronic publishing, and e-scholarship initiatives with a focus on needs assessment, requirements analysis, business modeling, and information policy development.  She has provided leadership in various digitization and online publishing initiatives that explore and promote new models of scholarly communication. Rieger has a B.S. in Economics (METU), an M.S. in Public Administration (University of Oklahoma), and an M.S. in Information Systems (Columbia University).  She received her Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from Cornell University.

David Ruddy, Director, Scholarly Communication Services, arXiv User Support Manager

David Ruddy is Director of Scholarly Communications Services, Cornell University Library. His unit is responsible for user support and operational management of several Library repositories, including Project Euclid, arXiv, eCommons (Cornell's institutional repository), and the CUL Archival Repository (a digital preservation system). He has been involved with Project Euclid since its inception in 1999 and is the Cornell lead on that effort. He holds an M.A., M.S., and Ph.D., all from the University of Michigan.

Simeon Warner, Director, Software Development & Repository Architecture, arXiv IT Manager

Simeon Warner is Director of the Repositories Group at Cornell University Library. Current projects include development of an archival repository, the arXiv e-print archive (http://arxiv.org/), and Project Euclid (http://projecteuclid.org/). He was one of the developers of arXiv and his research interests include web information systems, interoperability, plagiarism detection, and open-access scholarly publishing. He has been actively involved with the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) since its inception and was one of the authors of the OAI-PMH and OAI-ORE specifications.
