Problem Specification

A simplified CubeSat is held in a rectangular box called a P-POD while being launched into orbit.  The 1U CubeSat with legs has dimensions of 10.5cm x 10cm x 10cm.  The structure is made of Aluminum 6061-T6.  The CubeSat also contains boxes and a cylinder, which represent simplified internal components such as a main flight computer and the attitude control systemOne of the important measure in race car design is torsional stiffness. To obtain that specification, a twist test must be performed on the Chassis. Here is a simplified version of race car chassis with a composite monocoque and two front suspension links. To simulate a twist test, the back of the monocoque will be fixed while coupling will be applied tot he end of the two front suspension. the .iges file for the geometry can be downloaded here
