Excerpt

Post undergraduate Chemistry course syllabi on-line. With Prof. Roger Loring, Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Table of Contents

Resolved

I found that our Chemistry web site already had this functionality created, from last year ('11/'12), but both Pat and Roger had forgotten:

http://www.chemistry.cornell.edu/courses/Course-Syllabus-2011-2012.cfm

So now Pat and Roger will update that existing page.

This project is thus closed, from my end.

Scope

Freshman classes required

  • 2070
  • 2080
  • 2090
  • 2150
  • 1560

Sophomore classes required

  • 3570
  • 3580
  • 2510

Other classes

It would be nice to include all Chemistry courses, but the Freshman and Sophomore ones listed above are the most important for us to focus on, at least initially.

Ideas

NOTE: Create a static domain (Cname) name to point to our solution so if it changes in the future, the pointers don't change. For example, something like <syllabi.chem.cornell.edu>.

It might be nice to have the syllabus page linked from within the Course catalog, for each course's entry, if permitted.

Blackboard

Q: If a class is "private", can a section or PDF file be marked as "public"?

Q: Will that file persist after the class is done?

wiki.cornell.edu

Mock-up of a Chemistry Syllabi web page, done using Cornell's wiki service.

Box.net

Q: Use and EGA to "own" the box, rather than a person's NetID?
