- Additional safety training may be required before using specific equipment.
We understand that some laboratory users may only use office space or computer facilities in laboratories and may not intend to use chemicals. However, these students are in the laboratory space and are potentially exposed to chemicals and thus must receive the training.
All users of the Engineering laboratories and shops must receive the Chemical Safety for Laboratory Workers training. You can do this most easily at http://www.blackboard.cornell.edu/. After logging in, select
- all blackboard sites
- other
- Environmental Health & Safety
- Look for a course with a title such as EHS-LaboratorySafety2008
- Click on the "enroll" button.
You will need to view the course materials and then take and pass a quiz.
