Work was done to better understand the properties of polyurethane foam as a filtration mechanism. Experiments were run testing the effect of foam depth and alum dose on filter performance.
Experiments on filter performance as a function of flow rate were done in hopes of designing a foam filtration unit for an AguaClara plant. Preliminary designs for such a filtration unit were also discussed.
