Working Group: Fluidized Bed Method

Accomplishments

• Took measurements for the pressure, flow rate, and bed depth for headloss calculations, revised midterm wiki
• Performed headloss calculations, found theoretical headloss through the tube and compared to measured values.
• Began MathCAD modeling of the theoretical headloss through the system.
• Began MathCAD modeling of bubble rising velocity
• Began Literature searches for information on other physical unit processes for gas removal and bubble formation / behavior.

Issues

• Finding an explanation for the shortcomings of the current system

Goals for upcoming week

• Fix the wiki pages based on the comments.
• Drill out the aerator to improve super saturation.
• Redesign the sand filter based on results.
