What does "this is the area we're measuring" mean? Also you should note that we commonly use plate settler spacings that are much closer than the industry standard of 5 cm. As you gather information from each of the manufacturers you can also find out if they make any closer spacings. The closer spacings are important because they make it possible to build shallower tanks. |

Figure 1 depicts one dimension of the area of a plate settler module. The second length that the area consists of is the width of the plate settler into the page when viewing figure 1. AguaClara plate settler modules are 1 have an active area of1 meter in width and 1 meter in length (1m x 1m). Each plate is 1 meter long , not (L). That is 1 meter high.
