h1. Automated Plant Inflow System

...

Overview

The automated plant inflow system is currently comprised of two projects, the flow control and the chemical doser. These two components of the system act together to allow the plant to respond to changes in inflow by both linearizing the change in plant flow and automatically adjusting chemical dosing for that change. With this system the plants should be more resilient when it comes to sudden changes in flow, often associated with rainstorms, without relying entirely on immediate operator presence.

h2. Current Teams

The [Linear Flow Orifice Meter] team creates the riser pipe, LFOM, which is located in the entrance tank. The addition of the entrance tank creates a linear relationship between the flow rate through the plant and the height of water in the entrance tank so that a float system can be used to gather information about flow rate through the plant.
