Shear Rate
In this experiment we studied the effect of varying shear flow rate within the flocculator. In the experiment, we used a flocculator length of 2796 cm, influent water with a turbidity of 100 NTU and an alum dosage of 45 mg/L. We varied the flow rate from 3-19 mL/s using Process Controller ProCoDA Software The shear rates corrresponding to these flow rates is shown in Firgure 1:
