Within Outreach, I work on the Public Relations team, as well as on Grants and Corporate Sponsors. I am writing a blurb for the Water Advocates eNewsletter.

I am also was working on a grant with Patagonia, but this fell through because Aguaclara is not yet an NGO and they do not fund research or out-of-country projects. However, when NGO status is reached Patagonia does have applicable grants for Aguaclara, especially the outreach team.

I will be tabling tabled the Tau Beta Pi Technical Fair on October 23Engineering Fair. I was in charge of 1/4-carding for the Rock for Honduras Concert in November, which gave other members of the Aguaclara team the opportunity to participate in an outreach event. I worked on a tri-fold poster for tabling and smaller posters for the Alternative Gift Fair.
I also created an alumni roster so that we could contact former students who might want to receive an alumni newsletter.

I have come across some struggles with grants because of qualifying descriptions that AguaClara does not fulfill. Some setbacks include that it is not an NGO, it is affiliated with a university, and implementation is done in Honduras.

My goals for the rest of the semester include applying for the current grants I am researching,  looking into more grants and corporate sponsorship opportunities, and bringing the AguaClara mission to the Cornell community, and beyond, more effectivelyThis semester, I focused more on PR than grants and corporate sponsors.
