Automated Design Tool

The AguaClara Design Tool (ADT) has been released for beta testing. The designs generated by the design tool need to be reviewed by a professional engineer before construction. If you are interested in using a design, please contact the design team for assistance!

In order to run the ADT you must download and install LabVIEW Runtimes 8.2.1 and the AguaClara Design Tool client. The design tool is currently bilingual (Spanish and English) and we will be adding support for additional languages soon. The language file that makes it possible to translate the design tool in to other languages can be downloaded and placed in the same folder as the AguaClara Design Tool.

The design tool currently returns

  • a spreadsheet file containing all of the variables and their values
  • text files containing AutoCAD commands that can be pasted into the AutoCAD command line
  • an AutoCAD drawing of the plant (note that it is currently necessary to turn on the layers to make the drawing visible)

If you don't have AutoCAD you can view the CAD drawing and check measurements using the AutoCAD viewer

Designs created by the AguaClara Design Tool in the last week

We don't design each plant from scratch. Instead, we do research to understand the fundamental processes of water treatment and invent scalable, reproducible tools that can be combined to form a complete water treatment plant. Then, our Automated Design Tool does exactly that. The ADT is free software that allows users to receive customized AutoCAD plant designs based on inputs like flow rate and region of the world.
